The crisis is not a hindrance: Lamborghini announced record sales

The semiconductor industry is currently experiencing a serious crisis. More than others, the deficit of chips was felt by automakers. Many of them had to reduce or even temporarily suspend the production of their cars. For example, Skoda has shut down its plant in the Czech Republic until the end of 2021. But there is an auto brand that, despite the crisis, continues to show record sales figures. We are talking about the manufacturer of expensive sports cars Lamborghini, which belongs to the German carmaker Volkswagen Group.

Lamborghini has announced record sales of its vehicles in the first nine months of 2021. Between January and September, the brand delivered 6,902 vehicles to customers around the world. This is a 23% increase over the same period in 2020, when shipments surpassed pre-pandemic 2019. One might get the impression that the Lamborghini crisis is only on hand.

It is noted that the EMEA region, which includes Europe, the Middle East and Africa, remains a priority for Lamborghini. In the first three months, the brand delivered 2,622 vehicles to this market, an increase of 17% over the previous year. The Asia-Pacific region accounted for 1,873 sales. The year-on-year growth was 28%.

The best-selling Lamborghini model at the end of the reporting period was the Urus sports crossover, which accounted for 4,085 out of 6,902 deliveries. In second place in sales is the sports car Huracan, which sold 2,136 copies in the first 9 months of this year, which is 28% more than a year ago. The legendary Aventador closes the top three with sales of 681 units.
