The CryptoPunk token was mistakenly sold for 4,444 ETH instead of 4,444 ETH

The owner of NFT CryptoPunk # 7557 mistakenly sold it for a negligible amount. It looks like he tried to set the price at 444 ETH, but accidentally put a dot after the first digit and sold it for 4.444 ETH.

NFT CryptoPunk # 7557 is quite rare – it depicts a punk in a golden tiara, and there are only 55 such “crowned” punks in the collection. Now the cheapest token with a tiara is estimated at 350 ETH ($ 1.5 million), and the last sale of such an NFT took place at a price of 196.69 ETH ($ 843,000). CryptoPunk # 7557 was sold to its previous owner 4 months ago for 59.99 ETH.

The token owner first set the price at 8,888 ETH. He then removed the token from the sale and was going to reduce the price to 4444 ETH ($ 19.1 million). However, I accidentally put a dot after the first digit and the sale was made at 4.444 ETH. That is, instead of millions of dollars, the owner received $ 19,100.

Since the price of the token was significantly lower than the market, the buyer used “flashbots” – he sent 3.33 ETH directly to the miner so that he would immediately include the transaction in the block.

Recall that recently the owner of NFT CryptoPunk # 9998 sold the token for a record $ 532 million. However, later it turned out that the sale was fictitious and the owner “sold” the NFT to himself.
