The keyboardist of the The Cure , Roger O’Donnell was diagnosed last year with lymphatic cancer. The news was released on the evening of last Sunday (1), on his social networks.
According to her Instagram post, the diagnosis came after a biopsy and the result was “devastating”: “I ignored the symptoms for a few months but finally got it checked out.”
The 69-year-old keyboardist said he has been undergoing treatment for 11 months, and although the cancer has been considered “rare and aggressive,” his body is responding well to the process: “I am fine and the prognosis is excellent. The killer knocked on the door, and we did not answer.”
O’Donnell is undergoing immunotherapy and radiotherapy and encourages others to fight the disease: “Cancer can be fought, but if you’re caught early enough, you have a much better chance, so what I would say is: get tested. If you think you might have symptoms, get it checked.”
