Some Internet users who prefer to customize their browser use skins to give it a new look. Others use CSS styles for different elements of it to make the browser unique. However, most of these solutions do not change all interface elements. Quite often, the scroll bar remains unchanged. The Custom Scrollbars extension allows you to customize the scroll bar: set the specified width and color.
To change the color of the scroll bar in the browser, you need to go to the extension settings and activate the “Use Custom Colors” function. After that, it will be possible to select the color of the scroll bar and the bar itself. There are two ways to set the desired hue: use a color wheel or enter a specific hexadecimal color code. In addition, here you can adjust the brightness and transparency of the scroll bar. You must turn off the Custom Color setting to revert to the default colors, but in this case, the previous settings are not preserved.
If you wish, you can make the scroll bar one third thinner or hide it altogether. In the latter case, you will have to use the mouse wheel, arrow keys or Page Up / Page Down to scroll. The extension works with all sites and with different skins in Firefox and Chrome.
