The deadly explosion in Iran’s largest commercial port is due to “negligence” – to 65 dead

The Iranian interior minister today estimated that the huge explosion that occurred yesterday, Saturday, in the country’s largest commercial port, which cost the lives of 46 people, was due to “negligence”. The explosion, which was heard at a perimeter of tens of kilometers, occurred around Saturday afternoon at a dock at the Sahid Rajai port. The death toll from the fire in the port of Sahid Rajai reached 65. Authorities reported that more than 1,000 people were injured, with Hassanzadeh clarifying that the majority of them had been discharged from the hospital. “Only 120 wounded are still hospitalized,” Interior Minister Escandar Momeni told state television today during his visit to the area. “Some suspects were recognized and called (…) there were shortages, mainly non -compliance with security measures and negligence,” he added.
