The dismantling of the House and the holding of new elections is wanted by 63% of the French, according to a IFOP poll reported today by the LCI TV television network, as Prime Minister François Bairou is struggling to save the minority government of which he is leading. The IFOP poll took place in a sample of 1,000 people online on August 26th. Bairo’s minority government seems more and more likely to fall next month after three major opposition parties said they would not support him in voting for a vote of confidence announced by Bairou on September 8, on his plans. Political uncertainty had an impact on French shares and bonds this week.
