The Easter walk of the Queen and Prince Charles

Both smiling and both without a mask. Queen Elizabeth and Prince Charles celebrate Easter with a photo together in the gardens of Fragmore House, Windsor Castle. It is the official start to the holidays for the royals, but also a greeting on the arrival of spring. It is all in bloom around his majesty and the heir to the throne.

The two photo were published on the social accounts of Buckingham Palace and Clarence House, then of the queen and the prince.

Elizabeth II, green loden and handkerchief on her head, appears in great shape as already in the images of the past week. It could be said that it is a smile against the controversy surrounding the Harry and Meghan interview, but it is also certainly a smile for the return to normal in the UK. Thanks to the vaccination campaign, the situation is rapidly improving: the number of infections is decreasing and the number of deaths has practically disappeared.

This week the Queen attended the Royal Australian Air Force centenary celebrations, the first public release of the sovereign in 2021. “I’m really happy to be here,” said Elisabetta, who will turn 95 on 21 April before receiving two RAAF jackets for her new corgi as a gift. The Queen also stays at Windsor Castle for Easter, but hopes to return soon to Buckingham Palace.

The prince also smiles in the photographs. For Easter his recording of a poem by Gerard Manley Hopkins celebrating the greatness of God will be broadcast. He chose the poem because it embodies the hope and joy of the season.

The queen was able to celebrate Maundy Thursday this year as well ceremony on the Thursday before Easter. Usually the sovereign hands out token coins to reward people for their services to the nation. This year he did it remotely. He sent letters to the 190 chosen people, 95 men and 95 women, one for each year of His Majesty’s life.
