The emotional farewell of Anne Heche’s son after his death: “I hope he is free of pain”

After spending a week in a coma after a serious traffic accident that led to brain death, the family of actress Anne Heche decided to disconnect her so that she could rest in peace.

Just one day after her death, friends, family and ex-partners have spoken out to pay tribute to the artist, moving thousands of people.

Homer Laffoon, eldest son of Heche, dedicated some emotional words through a public letter:

My brother Atlas and I lost our mom. After six days of almost unbelievable emotional swings, I was left with a deep and speechless sadness. I hope my mom is pain free and begins to explore what I like to imagine as her eternal freedom.

I am grateful for your love, as I am for the support of my dad, Coley, and my stepmom, Alexi, who continue to be my support during this time.

Nancy Davis, philanthropist and friend of Heche, sent her sincere condolences via Instagram:

Heaven has a new angel. My loving, funny and endearing friend Anne Heche has gone to heaven. I will miss her terribly and cherish all the beautiful memories we have shared. Anne was always the kindest and most caring person who always brought out the best in me.

My heart is broken.

For her part, Ellen DeGeneres, television host and ex-partner of Heche, also expressed her condolences through a message on Twitter:

This is a sad day. I am sending all my love to Anne’s children, family and friends.

In addition, James Tupper, another of the actress’s ex-partners and father of her second child, expressed his concern as soon as he learned of the accident:

Thoughts and prayers for this lovely woman, actress and mother tonight. Anne Heche, we love you.

Moments after the interpreter’s death was announced, Tupper would share a second message:

I love you forever.
