“The European Union wants to take away control of our fishing waters”UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson said on Wednesday, reiterating that he cannot accept that demand.
“The EU insists that if they pass a new law in the future, they want the automatic right to punish us,” Johnson said.
The prime minister added that they would prosper with or without a Brexit deal. “This country will be ready for the Australian or Canadian solution,” he said.
Johnson will head to Brussels on Wednesday to dine with the President of the European Commission, Urusla von der Leyen. It is part of the negotiations between both parties with the intention of reaching an agreement.
