The European Commission will approve tariffs on imports from the United States in response to the illegal aid that Washington has granted Boeing, announced this Monday the vice president of the Community Executive and head of economy Valdis Dombrovskis.
“The United States has imposed its tariffs following the ruling of the World Trade Organization in the case of Airbus and now we have a ruling from the WTO in the Boeing case allowing us to impose tariffs and that is what we are doing, “said Dombriovskis at the beginning of a meeting of the trade ministers of the EU.
The World Trade Organization (WTO) recently ruled that the EU has the right to impose tariffs of up to 4 billion dollars (about 3.36 billion euros) on US imports for its illegal aid to the aeronautical giant Boeing.
