My favorite look: Greg Tarzan

Why… The actor of Mission: Impossible It is faced with a “complicated challenge”: how not to steal the scene a Tom Cruise (perfect in Armani)? He then chooses a jacket with a high collar and a cream -colored trousers by Dior, a rather cunning choice to stay in the classic chromatic codes of Cannes, however avoiding tuxedo. To give a touch of originality to the look, the actor also opted for a vintage brooch of Boucheron, worn like a bow tie, marking one of the first remarkable apparitions of male jewelry, completed by a chopard on the wrist watch. Well played.

The opinion of 🇮🇹: Other than watches! The new obsession of the most stylish men are the pins, to be pinned without placing limits on fantasy, here and there. Perfectly in trend, therefore, the actor.

The opinion of 🇪🇸: The high neck jacket, the cream -colored trousers – I hope to see more colored pants on the red carpet -, the vintage pin … distinguish yourself next to Tom Cruise is an impossible mission, but Greg Tarzan succeeds with a simply impeccable look.

My favorite look: Pom klementieff

In: Loewe, chopard jewels

Why… I could easily have rewarded the very French style of Zoe Saldana, or the impeccable tuxedo of Andie MacDowell, or the reassuring and indisputable choice of Irina Shayk in Vintage Saint Laurent, and nobody would have had anything to complain about. And instead, for me, the winning look of this evening is that of the young actress of the cast of Mission Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Loewe is one of the coolest brands – perhaps the coolest – in recent years, the wisteria color is delicious, and she knows how to wear an absolute abysmal neckline. A young star with an unconventional and very personal style, to keep an eye on.

The opinion of 🇪🇸: In fact, Loewe is the coolest brand of the moment, and Pom Klementieff is the coolest actress of the Festival with this model of the Maison – draped, sculpted and … lilac – who fits them by brush. Difficult to beat.

The opinion of 🇫🇷: Pom Klementieff takes the risk of lilac, color that belongs to the family of the most complicated shades (purple, mauve, aubergine …). Why not: the apparition has succeeded, but the upper part of the dress – with the décolleté (almost) uncovered – prevents her from making those greetings to the audience they like. Sin. The hairstyle is perfect, the spectacular chopard earrings.

My favorite look: Irina Shayk

In: Saint Laurent Vintage

Why… In an era in which the outfits are studied at the millimeter by a host of stylists ready to grasp the slightest detail – what can become viral and/or collect thousands of “likes” on social media – the best compliment that you can do to someone is to say that it seems to wear clothes extracted from your wardrobe. This is the case of the top model Irina Shayk and the Yves Saint Laurent model: a long -sleeved corset in velvet – Applause! -Combined with a balloon skirt in taffeta of the Haute Couture Fall-Winter 1988 collection of the Maison. One of my favorite pastimes is to look at old images of the Festival, in particular those of the 90s and the first 2000. Irina seems to have come out of that era when everything was more spontaneous; And in 40 years, someone will look at this photo and think: “Divine”. Congratulations to his host of stylists, who certainly did not forget the tights.

The opinion of 🇫🇷: Irina Shayk had accustomed us to more looks … undressed, but he knows how to play with a certain appreciable malice with the new rules of the Dress Code of the Cannes Red Carpet. Having said that, attention to the total black look: it could be enhanced with a pin or necklace for a slightly more “wow” effect.

The opinion of 🇮🇹: The smartest stars have understood that vintage can be a really safe and surprising choice, and they wear it more and more often on important red carpet. Meanwhile, in order not to run the risk of having a colleague who copy it to the same red carpet, which is a bit of the nightmare of all, and then to prove that it really understands its fashion that matters and its history. Irina (that is, her stylist) did a good job. But maybe I would have preferred a more built and tidy wig.
