In the latest Chrome Canary update, another hidden setting was discovered, which indicates the imminent implementation of the new Material You design in Google’s branded browser. It’s about the flag #dynamic-color-android, after activation of which the elements of the web browser interface will change their color depending on the color of the installed wallpaper. Previously, the browser has already added the ability to switch to the redesigned tabs view.
To try out Chrome’s redesigned Material You style now, you need to follow these steps:
- Install the latest version of Chrome Canary (note, this version is experimental and may not work properly).
- Go to the hidden settings page by typing the address bar chrome://flags.
- Find and activate flags #theme-refactor-android and #dynamic-color-android.
- Restart the browser twice for the changes to take effect.
A few days ago, Google released a new beta version of the Gboard keyboard, which also redesigned certain UI elements such as the pop-up menu and the settings menu.
