The Fai days of spring are back: here are the places to visit

Make a note of these dates: Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 March the Fai Spring Days are back. And they finally do it, after two years that defining uncertain is an understatement, right in the first weekend of spring: you could not have hoped for better to celebrate the thirty years of the event that since 1993 has opened to the public more than 14 thousand art venues throughout Italy, welcoming over 11 million visitors over time. A celebration, yes, but not a party: the international political situation actually invites us to reflect on the moment we are living in, and on role that the heritage cultural plays in civil life, as part of the history, identity and values ​​of a people. Precisely for this awareness, and to show solidarity and closeness towards the Ukrainian people, the yellow-blue flag will be displayed in the goods open to the public, but not only: on the occasion of these days the you do formally undertakes to finance the recovery of a work of art from the Ukrainian cultural heritage, to be identified as soon as the conflict is over. An important gesture for its very high symbolic value.

The assets to visit from north to south Italy

But what are the open goods in this edition of the spring days? They range from villas to historic buildings, from archaeological areas to libraries, from theaters to parks, from castles to botanical gardens: over seven hundred locations in four hundred cities, from the north to the south of the country. For example, there is the seventeenth century casino dell’Aurora Ludovisi in Rome with the frescoes by Guercino, the INPS building in Milanbuilt between 1929 and 1931 by Marcello Piacentini, the music park in Parma with Renzo Piano’s auditorium and the Giuseppe Verdi opera house in Triestethe Medici villa of Careggi and thehypogeum of the Cristallini in Naplesa small jewel in the heart of the Sanità district, the Neolithic village of Matera and the Guattari cave of San Felice Circeo, theater of the discovery of the remains of Neanderthal man. How to participate in the Fai days of spring 2022

Participating in the Spring Days, as usual, is simple: from this afternoon it will be possible to consult on the website www.giornatefai.it the list of all the openings planned for this year. Reservations are not compulsory, but in some cases – especially in large cities – it is advisable to do so to secure your place; whoever wishes can pay a small contribution (while in some cases access to the assets is subject to registration with the FAI). Finally, it will be mandatory to show the reinforced green pass, even in outdoor places, and to wear the FFP2 mask throughout the visit.
