The premise is necessary: the risk of mythomania is high, considering the resonance that the news had. The way Prince Harry lost his virginity – hastily, with a woman older than him who made him feel like “a young stallion” – has become one of the most talked about passages of his much talked about book Shoot.
And it was only a matter of time before someone stepped forward claiming their signature on the much-heralded royal defloration. Today that woman has decided to speak, and responds to the name of Sasha Walpole. Sasha, now 40, is a digger driver and mother of two. he has known Prince Harry since he was a boy, so she could in fact be the protagonist of the “inglorious episode” recounted in the royal autobiography, despite all the conjectures made by the media up to now that they led to women much later in age. Instead, if what Sasha says is true, the age difference between Harry and the older woman with whom he had his first sexual experience was in fact only two years.
Indeed, in Sasha’s story, Harry, then a 16-year-old Eton student – and not 17 as suggested in Shoot – was in the pub to celebrate her nineteenth birthday. The two were such close friends and so close that – Sasha recounts – Harry had given her a Miss Piggy puppet for the occasion, accompanied by a funny birthday card with a joke about a flatulent whale. The whole thing had been topped off with a tray of shots, so the two friends were pretty drunk by closing time.
They went to smoke in a field behind the pub, and – Sasha says – it was Harry who made the first move: “He started kissing me,” she says. «He was passionate, intense. We both knew how she was going to end. He went from one kiss to the rest pretty quickly.’ “He was instant, fiery, bam bam, between two friends,” Sasha continues. “He wasn’t Prince Harry to me. He was Harry, my friend.’
“It wasn’t premeditated and I didn’t know she was a virgin. It was fast, wild, exciting. We were both drunk, and it never would have happened if we hadn’t been,” confesses Sasha, who says that when she thought about it the next morning, she regretted it, not so much because he was the prince, but because he was a loved one. Friend.
Sasha also confirms the royal butt slap story, spicy detail told by Harry in Shoot. And he also adds a pinch to it. A playful thing, on young Harry’s ‘peach bottom’.
“I would never have said anything if the book hadn’t come out,” says Sasha. «I wasn’t offended that Harry called it inglorious, because it wasn’t all that glorious, in fact. We were drunk in a field at the back of a pub – how could that be glorious?’
