The father of the 9-year-old girl who was held hostage by Hamas is shocked: “She was a normal and happy child, now she is afraid”

For his daughter, 9 year old Emilywhere he was a Hamas hostage and was released on Saturday (25/11), her father said. “She is afraid to make noise, she must have been ordered to be quiet” he pointed out and explained how much the little girl has changed.

Tom Hunt, speaking to the British newspaper The Sun, noted: “When she came back, I literally had to put my ear to her lips to hear what she was saying.”

“He was a normal child, happy and noisy, but now he whispers” the 9-year-old’s father continued.

Emily, who turned 9 on November 17 while being held hostage, was abducted by Hamas on October 7 while staying at the home of a friend, 13-year-old Hila, in the Beeri kibbutz. Her friend was also released on Saturday.

Emily, whose mother died of cancer when she was two-and-a-half years old, was initially reported dead, but was later named among the hostages.

In his interview with the Sun, her father recounts how Hamas kept moving the girl, so that the Israeli army would not find her.

Every day since Friday, Hamas has released around ten women and children it kidnapped during its bloody October 7 attack on Israel. In return, Israel releases three times as many imprisoned Palestinians.
