The Ferragnez – the series, where Fedez and Chiara really get naked

In an Italy deprived of a referendum by a royal family, valid “substitutes” for the aristocracy have always been sought. But yet. It is precisely in that “practically” that the secret of their success lies. Because they are not perfect: they know it, and they do not hide it. Indeed: today they slam it in front of everyone’s eyes in their series aired on Prime Video, The Ferragnez, hagiography was feared, but revealed itself – already after the first episodes – a gem of honesty. In which our digital royals – who have no etiquette obligations like real royalty – strip out much more than they do on their profiles (proving once again how much the social world is more illusory than Plato’s Cave), to the point of revealing childhood traumas that are already difficult to talk to a specialist face to face, let alone in front of the cameras.

And instead Fedez he did it: in the fourth episode he managed to tell of being harassed as a child. «I have not suffered a heavy violence. But I was a child who was not in control of a situation in which another prevailed over him », he revealed to the psychotherapist (faceless) who from the first episode helps the Ferragnez to unroll the thread of their life as a couple. “He was my dentist, I went to elementary school. Soon after that, that person disappeared. My parents found out from a television special that he was a pedophile and that he had taken his own life. ” A “small” trauma, according to the rapper, which led him, growing up, to a mania for control from which he cannot free himself. However, a trauma that no doubt will not have been easy to overcome and is not easy to tell.

But it won’t have been easy for either Chiara Ferragni – the winning woman, always optimistic, always smiling and with a seemingly perfect life – reveal that she too he feels helpless in front of a companion who, when he has his moments, closes up like a hedgehog and leaves the world outside. “I don’t want to make my problems weigh on anyone, but she insists, she wants to talk and I shut up even more,” he protested. “Not talking to me is the worst thing you can do to me. You make me feel useless in your life », she replied, showing an unsuspected fragility. Dynamics common to many couples at every latitude.

In short, although everything obviously takes place in favor of the camera, what we feared was the local version of Walking with the Kardashians, it is turning out to be anything but: not only a way for the golden couple of the web to shorten the distance from the followers who often recognize each other in their dynamics, but also the demonstration that after all we Italians would never really want a real royal family. Also because if it is true that our need to dream pushes us to avidly observe the lives of those who appear to us better or only more fortunate, it is also true that finding out that these lives are less glossy than we expected is much more reassuring. And this too the Ferragnez know very well.
