The filming of the series “Chicago Fire” was interruptedwhen noted armed attack near the sets last week. An armed man shot several times opposite the filming location of the series, on its west side Chicagoaccording to local news outlet CWB Chicago.
The series was filmed on Madison Street, in the West Side and o gunman started shooting from the opposite corner. As the publication states, the perpetrator fled from the scene and no actors or crew members were injured.
According to THR, filming was halted for a day and the show’s security protocols went into effect immediately. Reports that a bullet ended up in equipment belonging to the production are not accurate, imgs told THR.
The incident that happened last Wednesday is, as APE-MPE notes, one of several that have been recorded near filming locations in Chicago in the last two months.
In July, filming of the drama series “FX’s Justified: City Primeval” was halted when there was an exchange of gunfire from passing vehicles.
A few weeks later, filming at a different location was halted when an unknown person threw what police described as an “incendiary device” onto the set. No actors or crew members were injured in the incidents.
