The Finleys and the concert in Milan: fans’ nostalgia for Diventerai una star and beyond

It was 2006 and a few notes were enough to understand that she would be leaving soon one of the most listened to torments of Italian music: You will become a star of the Finleysthe group that had the merit of clearing pop punk in our country which, however, was all the rage in the United States thanks to groups like Simple Plan or Green Day. Despite a somewhat niche genre, the Finley have gained an adolescent audience, but a transversal onemaking themselves loved by people who had very little in common with each other. The teenagers of the time have become the 30-year-olds of today who have not missed the opportunity, after a few years of inactivity, to enjoy the group live again on the event date of October 16th atUnipol Forum of Milan.

There were more than 10 thousand fans who, last night, took a step back in time and sang along to Finley’s hits: from those of their debut album, Everything is possible, to the latest one, released a few months ago, Pogo Mixtape – Vol.1. And the band, well aware that it was a big party in which past and future manage to speak to each other, decided to be accompanied on stage by a large group of guest stars who made the evening unique.

J-Ax, Nask, Dari, Mondo Marcio, Rose Villain, Divi dei Ministri, Punkreas and Walls accompanied Finley, also singing in a rearranged, or rather “finleynized” version, their own songs demonstrating that differences in gender and tastes do not exist when the four boys from Legnano give their own touch.

The concert at the Forum was a small preview of the tour that awaits them in 2025but the dates of which have not yet been announced. Certainly, Finley’s intention is to give their audience the concert they’ve always dreamed of, the one you couldn’t wait to go to as a teenager but which didn’t come to pass, the one you imagined when, with headphones in ears, you thought you were seeing live. And, how said someone from the audience, posting a video on social media: there are those who cried last night and those who are lying. Well, there was certainly no shortage of emotion at the Finley concert and, if you felt a little nostalgic and felt a lump in your throat (even just seeing the images on social media), don’t worry, everything is normal.
