New details about AMD Radeon RX 6500 XT and RX 6400 video cards have appeared on the Web, and they promise these models GPUs (Navi 24 and Navi 24XL, respectively), produced using the 6 nm process technology. The announcement of the Radeon RX 6500 XT and Radeon RX 6400 will most likely take place in early January at an AMD event timed to coincide with CES 2022, but the older model will go on sale on January 19. According to the source, for new video cards AMD also introduces a new concept – memory bandwidth with Infinity Cache. The declared values are 232 GB / s for the RX 6500 XT and 216 GB / s for the RX 6400. But in reality (without Infinity Cache) we expect values at the level of 128 and 112 GB / s, respectively. The older model is assigned GDDR6 memory chips with a frequency of 16 GHz, the younger one – with a frequency of 14 GHz.
The power consumption of the older model will be 107 W, the younger – 53 W. The older one will receive a two-slot version and a six-pin connector for additional power supply, the younger one will be single-slot and low-profile. In both cases, there will be two connectors: DisplayPort and HDMI.
