Google today officially released the first beta version of Android 12 – it is called Developer Preview 1 and is intended for software developers to have enough time to debug their applications in accordance with the new interface and new features before the official release of the operating system.

Android 12 Developer Preview 1 is already available for Pixel smartphones. The list of supported models includes the following models: Pixel 3, 3 XL, 3a and 3a XL, Pixel 4 and 4 XL, 4a and 4a (5G), and Pixel 5. But this OS version is not available for ordinary users. According to Google’s roadmap, the first open beta of Android 12 will be released in May as an over-the-air update, so then users will be able to try out all the delights of the new OS. In May, the official announcement of Android 12 is expected at the Google I / O developer conference.

Two more beta versions will be released in June-July, and the fourth beta will appear in August – and it will be the first stable version of the OS. And then – Release Candidate and the final version of Android 12. The roadmap does not indicate the month of its premiere, but, apparently, it will be September.
