The first domestic hydrogen filling station will be built in Russia. promise this year

By the end of this year, the first hydrogen filling station, completely created from domestic components, should appear in Kazan. It is being developed by the Kazan State Power Engineering University (KSUE) in cooperation with the Kamaz and RariTEK Holding companies. This was reported by the TASS news agency with reference to the press service of the Priority 2030 federal program.

To date, components for hydrogen filling stations are not produced in Russia. The report says that an educational and scientific laboratory for hydrogen energy has been opened at KSEU, where they are working on the creation of the first domestic hydrogen refueling. At the moment, the process of forming draft and design documentation for serial production of stations throughout the country is underway. The products of Russian enterprises have already been studied, and the necessary calculations are now being carried out. A working prototype of hydrogen refueling is promised to be created by the end of 2022.

The use of hydrogen as a fuel is considered the most promising solution for the transition to a decarbonized economy, which provides for the abandonment of traditional fuels. Russia already has transport (including public transport) powered by hydrogen. So, for example, the same Kamaz today has water trucks, mining dump trucks and tractors, as well as various utility vehicles.
