The Chinese manufacturer of mining equipment Canaan has opened the first service center outside the Middle Kingdom. The choice fell on Kazakhstan, which speaks of the popularity of Canaan devices in this country.
The manufacturer said in a statement that the new service center will help support local customers and service and test the devices. The center will provide both warranty and post-warranty repair services, as well as technical advice.
“The opening of a service center in Kazakhstan is the first step in our strategy to expand the network of service centers outside of China. This will allow customers to experience faster and cheaper service, which is very important given our expanding customer base outside of China, ”said Nangeng Zhang, Chairman and CEO of Canaan Creative.
Over the past year, Canaan Creative’s overseas clients have grown significantly. So, if in the first quarter of 2020 only 5% of the company’s devices were sent outside China, then in the first quarter of 2021 this figure was 78%.
Companies from Kazakhstan continue to increase their mining capacity. The country now generates approximately 6% of the total hashrate of the Bitcoin network, the fourth largest in the world. Chinese miners are also helping to increase the hash rate, which is withdrawing power from the Middle Kingdom in connection with a possible ban on mining in China.
