The first Greek car approved and certified by the state

The first Greek car approved and certified by the Greek state is a fact. This is the “KERABOSS SUPER K”, manufactured by the Greek innovative company KERABOSS CARS MANUFACTURING. This is a car, which he referred to as a vehicle M.O.IK (Individual Vehicles of Special Construction) which makes it a special category of vehicles.

“The way was opened for an approved certified Greek car,” said Deputy Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Michalis Papadopoulos at the event for the first presentation of the first car built in Greece and received license plates, after coordinated actions by the relevant ministry and the Region.

On the occasion of today’s event, the Deputy Minister of Transport sent an open invitation to Greeks abroad who are involved in car construction to return to Greece and do business, now that the ministry has created the legal framework for similar initiatives. “We support such initiatives and we will stand by any effort,” he said.

On his part, the governor of Attica George Patoulis noted that today is the result of cooperation between the region and the competent ministry.

“Today, after many years, license plates were issued, as now the region has created all the tools so that the citizen does not suffer, either in terms of license plates or driver’s licenses,” said Mr. Patoulis.

As the legislation of MOIK states, the “KERABOSS SUPER K” is not a mass-produced car, nor is it a mass-produced factory of economic and technical analysis. In fact, this project was carried out for the first time in Greece, as was emphasized in today’s presentation at the General Directorate of Transport of the Attica Region (156 Mesogeion Avenue, Cholargos, 15510) in the presence of Deputy Minister of Transport Michalis Papadopoulos and Regional Governor George Patoulis.

In fact, it is the first Greek car that got in 2022 got license plates to circulate on Greek roads and in this way opens the way for new initiatives of Greek businessmen. Regarding the stages that have passed, until the time of release for the first car made in Greece, the following are emphasized:

In 2008 he started and completed the construction of fully functional prototype vehicles.

In 2014, the Government Gazette of the Ministry of Transport was issued for our construction. With the signature of the Deputy Minister Mr. Michalis Papadopoulos.

In 2014, he also applied to the Ministry of Finance, for an appropriate legislative – tax regulation for vehicles, so that the Ministry of Transport can issue the license plates.

This request from 2014, was completed on 23/09/2021, with the publication of the appropriate provisions and on 31/12/2021, with the issuance of the decision of the Ministry of Finance.

Finally, the Attica Region issued the plates in 2022.

Regarding the “KERABOSS SUPER K”, it is offered in 2 and 4 seater versions. In fact, it has a 1000 cc engine producing 72 hp. It has a length of 3375mm, a width of 1560mm and a height of 1590mm and is available upon request.

Its construction method and materials make it a suitable vehicle for the islands and rent a car professionals, as emphasized. The construction materials, such as the polyester body, the galvanized chassis, remain almost intact from the sea salt and live almost forever, with a little maintenance, the company says.

Anxiety of the manufacturers now is to be able to enter a development program, in order for the Greek company to be able to have development funds, but also to be able to reduce the high costs involved in its construction. In any case, as stressed, the company’s goal is to sell more than 70 vehicles per year.
