New details continue to appear about Apple’s first electric car, which in the end may not be assembled by Hyundai / KIA at all, but by a completely different automaker.
Earlier, South Korean sources said that on February 27, Apple and KIA will sign a cooperation agreement, under which the former will invest $ 3.5 billion. And today it became known that after the leak of Apple Car produced by Hyundai / Kia, the companies stopped all negotiations.
It also became known that Apple is in talks with six other companies. Sources say there are at least six potential automakers on the list that could be selected as Apple’s new partner for such a massive project.

Bloomberg confirms that Apple is looking for a company to launch its own electric car not only in South Korea, but also in Japan, where shares of large auto companies have jumped amid rumors of talks with the iPhone maker.
Japanese automakers are usually too busy with their own development, production, sales and customer service to take on such a large Apple project. However, Nissan Motor Co. or Mitsubishi Motors Corp. there isn’t much work to do, so they may well close the deal.
