In honor of Robotics Day, celebrated annually on February 7 throughout the world, Roscosmos presented to the general public the first images and videos of the new generation anthropomorphic robot Teledroid.

The development of Teledroid is being carried out by specialists from the NPO Androidnaya Tekhnika together with RSC Energia. As the press service of Roscosmos notes, Teledroid will be able to work in the aggressive environment of outer space and perform experimental testing of typical operations in both copying and automatic modes.
In the future, such an assistant should significantly reduce the required time for a person to stay in a dangerous environment and facilitate work outside the base on the surface of the planet, freeing up the crew for other tasks.

Teledroid is the next generation of Russian anthropomorphic robot – the first was the Skybot F-850, better known as Fedor. He went to board the ISS in 2019. The flight on the Soyuz MS-14 spacecraft and further work on board the station showed that anthropomorphic robots can be integrated into manned spacecraft and orbital stations.
