The first royal wedding of 2023 will be that of Alexandra of Luxembourg

His name will say little to most, but Alexandra of Luxembourg, the only daughter of the grand dukes Henri and Maria Teresa, in 2023 she will experience a small moment of celebrity, protagonist of the first royal wedding of the year. The couple chose a double ceremony, as announced on Thursday 29 December by the Royal House. The first “yes” will be the April 22, at the town hall of Luxembourg, a consolidated habit for members of the royal family, while the religious ceremony will be celebrated in France on 29, in the church of Saint Trophyme in Bormes-Les-Mimosas, a charming town in the French Riviera.

The news of Alexandra’s engagement had arrived on November 7 with an official statement. The princess, born in 1991, will marry the slightly older Nicolas, born on November 11, 1988. «The two families unite in the happiness of the engaged couples by surrounding them with their affection», read the official press release, accompanied by a photo of the couple.

Virtually nothing is known about the groom, however, everything (or almost) of Alexandra is known. The fourth and only daughter of the grand dukes, she is sixth in line of succession to the throne. The brothers are Guillaume, married with Stéphanie de Lannoy, that after little Charles, 2 years old, in April she will give another child to her husband, Felix38 years old, married to Claire Lademacher and father of Amalia and Liam, Louis, 36, and Sébastien, 30 years.
