The first Russian navigator with Android Auto support is “2GIS”

The 2GIS company announces that the Android Auto platform is now supported in the Russian navigator of the same name. By connecting a smartphone to the car’s head unit, users can plan a route right on the car screen without being distracted by the phone.

“2GIS” with Android Auto support allows you to search for addresses and companies on city maps and supports voice input. The navigator announces maneuvers, shows parking lots near the final destination of the route and traffic jams.

Development of the app began in April 2020, following the release of the beta version of Google’s Android for Cars App Library. Since the launch of the beta version of 2GIS on Android Auto in November last year, developers have begun to receive a variety of feedback from users across the country. About 15 thousand people have joined the open testing. They regularly reported flaws and helped the developers to refine the application.

A free roam mode has been added to the final release, in which you can use the navigator without entering your final destination. Also, the developers promise to add new features as the Android for Cars App Library updates.

The version of the 2GIS navigator with Android Auto support is already available in the Google Play store.
