The head of the Russian diplomacy, Sergey Lavrov, referred today, in the conversation he had with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of France, Catherine Colonna, to the possible visit of the inspectors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) to the Zaporizhzhya nuclear power plant.
In the telephone conversation the two ministers had, they “discussed in detail the situation surrounding the Zaporizhia nuclear power plant and the existing possibilities to organize a visit to the plant by the IAEA mission,” the Russian ministry said in a statement.
Lavrov insisted that Ukraine continues to bomb “the largest nuclear power plant in Europe, as well as the surrounding area, which puts all European citizens at risk of a nuclear disaster.”
The station has been controlled since the beginning of March by the Russian army and in recent weeks has been hit, for which Moscow and Kyiv blame each other.
