The other day there was news that the founder and CEO of Xiaomi, Lei Jun, is leaving his post. However, the information turned out to be not entirely truthful, or rather incorrect. Xiaomi’s general public relations manager was forced to clarify the situation, as many people misinterpreted Lei Jun’s words. He does leave the Xiaomi Group, but only as the head of the electronics division and intends to devote himself to the development of the brand’s vehicles.
Lei Jun also provided further clarification on his Weibo page. He noted that Xiaomi Group has a large number of subsidiaries, in the board of directors of which there are often reshuffles. His departure from the position of chairman of the board of Xiaomi Electronics should not be taken as something radical. Although this division is the main part of the brand, Xiaomi Group as a whole is much more than just consumer electronics.
