The French ambassador to Russia was summoned for the “unacceptable” statements made by the French Foreign Minister

France's ambassador to Russia, Pierre Levy, was summoned today to the Russian Foreign Ministry, in relation to the statements made on Monday by French Foreign Minister Stéphane Cezournet, in which he said that Paris is not “interested” in having a dialogue with the Russian leadership. According to the Russian side, Cezournet said that Paris is not interested in dialogue with Moscow as the statements made by Russian officials contain false information. The Russian Foreign Ministry in a statement, according to the Athens News Agency, states that “the French ambassador was informed of the unacceptable nature of these statements, which have nothing to do with reality”, while denouncing “a conscious and deliberate action” of Paris “intended to undermine the very possibility of any dialogue between the two countries”.
