The French economy is still on track to expand 5% this year Despite the coronavirus crisis, according to the latest forecasts for the Bank of France.
The legislator of the European Central Bank (ECB) and Governor of the Bank of France, Francois Villeroy de Galhau, said: “I can confirm our forecast of 5% growth for all of 2021. It is solid and quite cautious, although it reflects, of course, the great uncertainty surrounding the health situation.”
The central bank estimated that the economy is trading down 5% from pre-crisis levels in February, unchanged from January.
