The Fulbright Scholarship Board, which have given opportunities to thousands of American and foreign students, announced its resignation on Wednesday as a form of protest for the US government’s intervention. The twelve members of this Council, appointed by successive US presidents, expressed their concern about the “pouring of politics and ideology” in a historically non -party program. They specifically complain that the government of President Trump is opposed to granting scholarships to persons who have already been selected for the academic year 2025-2026. “The government is currently submitting another 1,200 foreign beneficiaries of Fulbright scholarships in an arbitrary revision process,” they said. “We believe that these actions not only contradict the law, but also to the Fulbright mission and values, including freedom of expression and academic freedom which Congress has identified in his law” in 1961, according to the announcement that the “Fulbright” is cited by the “Fulb.” […]
