There are so many in church: friends, school mates, boyfriend, family and a large part of the Primavalle district at the funeral of Michelle Causo, the 17-year-old stabbed to death on 28 June. The funeral takes place in the church of Santa Maria of the Presentation. There are bouquets of roses and all kinds of flowers among the crowns and pillows. Of Flavio, the boyfriend, the heart of red and white roses with the words “I love you”.
The bishop celebrated the function Baldo Reina, auxiliary of the western sector of the diocese of Rome: «What happened speaks of a rotten world, which burns youth, which chases illusions, which no longer knows how precious a life is. It may happen that life is trivialized so as to drag even evil into banality, which we have a duty to distinguish and eradicate. Our pain now becomes a denunciation, but it must also translate into change.».
And again: «In the face of the death of this one our sister, sunny and beautiful, first of all we have to stop; we must take off the sandals of our many certainties and have the honesty to make a healthy and sincere discernment. Michelle’s death raises questions for us as a Church and as a Civil Society. Where are we going? Are we aware or not that ours is a crisis of civilization? What are we offering our young people? Do we still feel like saying that we are building a future for them, or have we all become accomplices in death plans?

What happened on the evening of Michelle Causo’s murder and what the motive is has not been fully clarified. The police made a new inspection of the house of the crime. We are looking for feedback on the version provided by the 17-year-old accused of aggravated voluntary homicide, concealment and vilification of a corpse and now in prison. Drugs were found in the apartment in the first inspections and there would also have been an artisan laboratory for the production of Purple Drank, a hallucinogenic substance. The lead of a debt, of a few euros or more, for some doses of hashish is not the only one followed. There would also be the hypothesis of blackmailing girls on social networks by the arrested person.
