From an early age, I understood the value of diversity and the power of building bridges between people of different backgrounds and perspectives. I grew up in an environment where diversity was not just a buzzword, but a reality that was lived daily. I developed a deep bond with my sisters and parents, and this family connection shaped me in significant ways. My education abroad, especially at international schools in Africa, taught me from an early age that differences between people are what enrich us, and that respecting others is essential.
I always felt like an outsider wherever I was. But the feeling of being out of place, instead of weakening or isolating me, strengthened me and made me understand the importance of welcoming others and respecting those who are different. This perspective was fundamental in my professional and personal life. No matter where I was, I always fought to ensure that everyone had a seat at the table.
One of the biggest challenges I faced as a woman in leadership was the constant struggle for recognition and space. I saw women around me working tirelessly, often harder than men, to earn their place. Bringing the “Women to Watch” movement to Brazil was one of my greatest achievements, as I deeply believe in the importance of giving visibility and support to women who make a difference. This movement is more than just highlighting successful women: it is about creating opportunities for all women to shine.
And it is very important to highlight that the my journey was not lonely . I have always had male allies by my side who supported me and believed in my potential, from my father to my husband. They were fundamental in enabling me to build projects and initiatives that today impact so many lives.
I believe deeply that true power lies not in imposing, but in listening and building together. When I look at people like Kamala Harris, I see a future where feminine “soft power” prevails – a power that values dialogue, respect and building bridges. I believe the world is ready for this new form of leadership, where strength lies in listening and collaboration, not in imposition.
The future, for me, has touches of femininity. It is built with care, with the ability to heal and unite. To build hope. It is at the table, whether at home or at work, that all affections must come together. This table is the space where everyone has a voice and where prejudice has no place. It is a table where hope is served daily, and where transformation begins with respect for the word.
Women, with their soft power, have the ability to rebuild bridges and restore the value of words. They inspire the world to believe again, to have hope and to build a better future. And it is with this vision of faith that I conclude this first reflection in this space, recording here my belief, full of optimism, that together, with diversity, inclusion and respect, we can transform the world into a better place for everyone.
