The future of the electric car market: Nissan unveils the Ambition 2030 concept

Today, November 29, Nissan Motor officially unveiled its long-term Nissan Ambition 2030 concept – over the next ten years, the manufacturer will develop and supply electrified vehicles and various innovations in this direction, and by 2050 the company plans to become completely carbon neutral in all life cycle of its products. At the same time, electrification, which is quite expected, is the main direction of the new strategy of Nissan Ambition 2030 – the company plans to invest impressive funds over the next five years in electric cars and technological innovations for them.

The result of this investment should be a whole line of new electrified vehicles – by fiscal year 2030, Nissan, according to official statements, will present 23 new vehicles to the world at once, 15 of which will be fully electric. In addition, Nissan’s management announced that the company plans to significantly increase sales of electrified vehicles in the global market by 2026. And to showcase future cars (or at least what they might look like), the automotive giant unveiled three new concept vehicles at once.

Moreover, to improve the capabilities of electric vehicles, Nissan is already developing all-solid-state batteries, which should enter the market by 2028 (a pilot plant in Yokohama will be built and prepared in 2024). The new batteries will reduce the time required for a full charge by 30%, while increasing the dynamic characteristics of electric cars and lowering their final cost. The company also plans to actively develop in the field of autonomous driving systems in order to equip all its cars with Lidar systems by 2029. We can only hope that Nissan’s plans will come true.
