The gates of the Polytechnic open for the 50th anniversary

From today, Wednesday 15/11, the three-day events for his 50th anniversary begin Polytechnicwith the gates opening in the morning. Security measures will be particularly strengthened until Saturday, while traffic regulations will be put into effect throughout the center of Athens.

THE Athena will look like a “lobster” as thousands are expected to be on the streets especially on November 17, when the traditional march to the American embassy will take place police officers.

Traffic regulations due to Polytechnic

They come into force from today, Wednesday (15/11) Traffic regulations in the center of Athens due to the festive events for its 50th anniversary celebration Polytechnic as announced by the Police.

Traffic regulations are as follows:

Prohibition of stopping and parking, as well as stoppage of vehicle trafficwhich will take place gradually and depending on the traffic conditions, from 06.00 on Wednesday 15-11-2023 to 06.00 on Saturday 18-11-2023, as follows:

  • Stournari, in the section between Pl. Exarchion and 3rd September Street.
  • 28th of October (Patesion), in the section between Kodrigtonos and El. Venizelou (University) and in both (2) traffic streams, as well as in the perpendicular ones up to the first parallel street.
  • Tositsa Pedestrian Street.
  • Polytechnic Pedestrian Street.
  • Bouboulinas, in the section between Stournari Street and Alexandra Street.

As pointed out in the announcement, the above traffic regulations will be implemented gradually and depending on the traffic conditions presented. Also, according to the Decision of “Road Transport S.A.”, modifications will be made to the itineraries and stops of the means of transport (Buses – Trolley).

At the same time, the Traffic Directorate of Attica planned and will take measures to facilitate traffic in the wider area of ​​the center of Athens.

Finally, the Police appeals to drivers from Wednesday 11/15/2023 until Friday 11/17/2023 to avoid driving and parking their vehicles in the areas of the events, the route of the march and around the US Embassy , as well as in the wider area of ​​the Center, both to serve them and to prevent additional traffic problems.
