The Generalitat de Catalunya has approved a decree by which it may force the rental of premises affected by the restrictions applied by the coronavirus pandemic to be reduced to 50%.
At a telematics press conference, The Presidency Adviser and Govern spokesperson Meritxell Budó explainedthat the decree empowers business owners to negotiate with local owners a reduction in the rental price. If there is no pact in a month, the rule requires a 50% reduction in rent, something that can be accommodated by bars, restaurants, beauty centers, bingos, casinos, gaming rooms and playrooms affected by restrictions.
The decree includes all other activities that have limited capacity, although in this case the reduction of the rent will be proportional to the decreed decrease of that capacity.
