Experts of the analytical company Canalys summed up the results of the last quarter in the market of ready-made PCs, including chromebooks and tablets. According to their calculations, in the first quarter of 2021, 122.1 million systems were shipped, which is 53.1% more than in the same period last year. Analysts point out that the market has been growing on an annualized basis for the fourth quarter in a row.

The growth in the Chromebook segment is particularly impressive. It is equal to 274.6%. However, in absolute terms, these computers were shipped relatively little – 12.0 million pieces. Tablet shipments were up 51.8% YoY to 39.7 million units. Notebooks shipped 62% more in the quarter than a year ago, and desktops shipped 4% less.
The leader in the Chromebook segment is HP, which was able to increase its share from 18.6% to 36.4%. Lenovo is in second place. The share of the Chinese manufacturer increased over the year from 23.8% to 25.9%. Company The third place is occupied by Acer, whose share decreased from 16.1% to 11.9%. Next comes Samsung.
