The global shortage of microelectronics has reached the Russian automaker AvtoVAZ. In June, the company began offering special versions of cars without a multimedia system and “multi-wheel”. This was reported by Vedomosti with reference to three large car dealers.

Dealers are offered the Comfort Light configurations for the Lada Vesta, Xray and Largus models. This configuration lacks an on-board multimedia system and a multifunction steering wheel with cruise control.
Moreover, such configurations are cheaper than standard ones by only 10,000-13,000 rubles. However, an important plus is that they are available from dealers, while the usual configurations are offered with a waiting period of about two months and dealers immediately warn of a possible increase in cost by the time of delivery.
One of the representatives stressed that, in fact, buyers have no choice, the shortage of standard equipment is expected until September. He explained:
All cars in the “Comfort Light” configuration will be sold within a month from the date of delivery to the dealer against the background of a shortage of other modifications and the forthcoming corporate leave of the plant. ”
