Xiaomi introduced the Band 7 Pro back in July, but then only the Chinese modification of the bracelet was announced – unlike the same Xiaomi Band 7, the new product did not support any languages other than Chinese and English. The release of the global version of the bracelet did not happen immediately, only on October 4th. As it turned out, in addition to a significantly higher price tag, the global Smart Band 7 Pro (that is its official name on the international market – with the prefix “Smart”) is also distinguished by the absence of an NFC chip for contactless payments. This was noticed by the Gizmochina portal.
The situation seems strange, since the Chinese Xiaomi Band 7 Pro comes with NFC, and in the past the manufacturer released the Mi Smart Band 6 NFC, a special version of the regular Band 6 with support for contactless payments. It was officially available in some European countries.
Perhaps in the future a special version of the Band 7 Pro with NFC will be released, but it is not clear why Xiaomi initially deprived the global modification of this chip.
