The government, through its representative, launches a frontal attack on the president of SYRIZA, in the aftermath of the last public statements of Mr. Tsipras.
“I want to express the government ‘s disapproval of Mr Tsipras’ escalating attempt to strike at democracy, institutions and political life with a plan a Trumpet a la greca. At the assembly of SETE and the SYRIZA parliamentary group, Mr. Tsipras asked, among other things, the Prime Minister to appoint a caretaker Minister of Interior from now on, as he says, the country is moving towards the elections.It is unheard of and “outside any order, political and constitutional, a request that deeply offends the popular will”, stressed Mr. Giannis Oikonomou, during the briefing of the journalists.
“It seems that Mr. Tsipras’s goal is to question the normality, of the democratic institutions. It is to create conditions of toxicity. and to build a line of defense for the next political period, thus resorting to an irresponsible and extremely dangerous practice, with implications for the course of the economy, possibly also for our national issues. “It requires responsibility and unity. Mr Tsipras must finally realize that democratic normalcy is an acquis of the post-colonial regime and that no divisive political approach will jeopardize it,” the government spokesman said.
