The Greek term in the Security Council has begun – “Greece has a substantial say and role in global developments”

The Permanent Representative of Greece to the UN, Ambassador Evangelos Sekeris, expressed his gratitude to the member states that voted for Greece and the feeling of responsibility for Greece’s participation in the Security Council at a critical international juncture in the speech he delivered during the ceremony of raising the flags of the countries that make up the Security Council, marking the beginning of the term of office of the newly elected member states. Mr. Sekeris congratulated Denmark, Pakistan, Panama and Somalia on their election and acknowledged “the outstanding service of outgoing members” Ecuador, Japan, Switzerland, Malta and Mozambique over the past two years.
