The head of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange in the UK, Jonathan Farnell, left his post amid the company’s litigation with financial regulators in the US and Europe.

According to corporate documents and LinkedIn history, Jonathan Farnell resigned from his position at Binance Markets Limited at the end of September. Farnell had already left his leadership position at Binance Europe in June.

“We would like to thank Jonathan for his contributions and wish him the best in his next project,” a Binance spokesperson said.

Farnell joined the exchange’s team in 2021 and was initially hired in a compliance-focused role, but was later promoted to lead Binance UK.

In March 2022, Farnell took over as CEO of Bifinity, a new payment system launched by Binance. At the same time, he remained a director of Binance Markets Limited.

Farnell became the latest top manager to leave Binance. Previously, Binance’s head of product and design, Mayur Kamat, resigned. Other recent departures include Binance Asia Pacific director Leon Foong, chief strategy officer Patrick Hillman, general counsel Hon Ng and chief business officer Yibo Ling.

It recently became known that the CEO of the French division of the Binance cryptocurrency exchange, Stephanie Cabossioras, is leaving the company.
