The head of CommEX now works at Bitget

Cryptocurrency exchange Bitget has appointed a new head of marketing in the CIS. He became the former regional director of the closed CommEX platform.

Anton Toroptsev will develop Bitget's business in the CIS. Representatives of the trading platform spoke about this.

“I am excited to join the fastest growing cryptocurrency exchange, Bitget, as the Head of Development and Marketing for the region. This is not the first year I have been watching the development of this company and I can say that the team managed to make a real breakthrough in the market and in just two years climb up several lines at once and enter the top 5 best cryptocurrency exchanges in the CIS. I am confident that my experience, knowledge and aspirations will help make the business even larger and more successful,” said Toroptsev.

In addition to developing Bitget's business in the CIS, Toroptsev will also work closely with regulators, partners and leading opinion leaders. After his appointment to this position, he already conducted a full audit of the marketing activity of the trading platform in the region and set the goal of bringing the crypto exchange into the top 3 global crypto companies.

Before Bitget, he was involved in Growth marketing for the world's largest crypto exchange Binance in Russia and the CIS. After the crypto platform left the Russian Federation, Toroptsev became the regional director of CommEX, the platform that bought Binance’s business in Russia. However, in March of this year it announced its closure.

Managers did not provide specific reasons for this decision. However, they noted that they came to this “after a thorough analysis of the current situation and review of strategic plans.”

Binance representatives said CommEX failed to fulfill obligations under the deal they entered into in September 2023. The largest crypto exchange continues to negotiate with other platforms to which it can sell its business in Russia.
