The head of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) organization in Thuringia, Bjern Hecke, was found guilty for the second time today of using a banned Nazi slogan. The state court in Halle found Mr. Hecke guilty of violating the law on the use of symbols of unconstitutional organizations and fined him 16,900 euros. According to the indictment, the AfD official used the Nazi slogan “All for Germany” during a party event in Thuringia last December and also called on the public to imitate him. Mr. Hecke was also convicted in May of violating the same law because he used the same slogan at a campaign event in Saxony-Anhalt in 2021. In this trial he was fined 13,000 euros.
