The head of Volkswagen is outraged: he could not charge his electric car during a trip to Europe

The head of the Volkswagen Group, Herbert Diess, recently spoke about his vacation in southern Europe, driving a Volkswagen ID.3 electric car. Of course, the negative about the poor quality of the charging infrastructure in Europe aroused particular interest.

The CEO of the Volkswagen Group ran into trouble when it became necessary to charge the Volkswagen ID.3 battery. Driving through the Austrian Brenner, Herbert Diess found only four Ionity charges, all of which were near the shopping center and were busy.

The head of Volkswagen decided not to wait and went further to the Italian city of Trento, but there, too, an unpleasant surprise awaited him. The premium charging station had no toilet, no cafe, and the charger itself was broken.

Herbert Diess instructed his subordinates to deal with the low-quality service of the charging stations and carefully check the performance of all ports. It is worth noting that last year, Volkswagen’s management criticized the Ionity network for its high pricing policy.

Today Ionity is one of the largest charging networks in Europe. It is a joint venture between BMW, Daimler, Ford, Volkswagen and Hyundai.
