The Hellenic International Business Angels Summit on June 23 and 24

Within five years, the Greek start-up ecosystem has grown very rapidly and has managed to attract significant investments from abroad. Specifically, in 2021, the Greek ecosystem experienced unprecedented developments with a record of financing, exits and acquisitions, thus verifying its development perspective. This dynamic continues in 2022.

In this context, the Hellenic Business Angels Network (HeBAN), the European Business Angels Network (EBAN) and the Hellenic Investment and Foreign Trade Company (Enterprise Greece), decided to co-organize the Hellenic International Business Angels Summit (HIBAS-) in Athens. 2022), on 23 and 24 June 2022. It is well known, after all, that investments made by Business Angels (private investors) play an important role in economic development and technological progress. The common goal of the organizers (HeBAN, EBAN, Enterprise Greece,) is precisely these “Business Angels” to get to know the Greek ecosystem, to invest in it and to promote it worldwide.

The conference will bring Business Angels from all over the world in contact with Venture Capital Funds, Accelerators and of course with Greek start-ups, 20 of which will be invited, after evaluation, to present their business plans to secure funding, to network and exchange views on topics such as

A. The impact of Business Angels (EAs) on start-up investments
B. EA investments and support of start-ups in the escalation
C. Business Angels and accelerating positive change
D. Cross-border investments of Business Angels
E. Co-investment with Business Angels, or otherwise alignment of benefits

The co-organizers have scheduled lectures, workshops and panels with 60 international speakers, specializing in investing in start-ups. Investments that will directly boost entrepreneurship, while indirectly encouraging investments in Research and Development (R&D), which will significantly benefit the economy in the long run. Equally important is the fact that the investment plans of multinational companies, implemented in the country recently, will assist in the overall digital transformation of the country, will accelerate innovation and will transfer technology within the Greek ecosystem.

Greece with its well-trained human resources, the dynamic support of technology development and innovation initiatives, through public (Elevate Greece), but also private initiatives, as well as its strong technological infrastructure, have made it a remarkable investment destination.
