The actor and director Pedro Vasconcelos 50, used social media on Monday (24) to report that he became dependent on drugs after playing an addicted character in the miniseries “The Bearer”, shown on TV Globo in 1991.
“I played a drug addict… and I ended up becoming one too! It seems surreal, doesn’t it? But that’s exactly what happened,” Pedro wrote in a post on his Instagram profile.
The artist, who also appeared in “Vamp” (1991) and “Fala Sério, Mãe!” (2017), said that he ended up drowning in heavy drugs due to an immersion that the character required. “From that moment on, I took the energy of that human being, behavioral, mental and emotional, and destroyed myself.”
“I became exactly like him, lost, addicted and a slave to my inconsistent behaviors. My life was turned upside down, and addiction trapped me in a way I never imagined,” he revealed.
About the fight against addiction, Pedro said he went through a “slow and progressive transformation”.
