Google has finally addressed the inequities in Google Photos that left tablet users at a disadvantage compared to smartphone users.

Last June, Google released a huge update to Google Photos. However, by globally updating the smartphone version and adding several improvements to the web interface, the developers did nothing to improve the life of tablet users.

Now the injustice has been fixed – Google Photos has implemented a long-awaited optimization for tablets. Interestingly, no big announcement was made on this matter. One of the users of the social news resource Reddit drew attention to the innovation, surprised that “no one is talking about this big event.”

The new optimized interface for tablets is distributed in the version of Google Photos for Android under the number 5.25. The iOS application, meanwhile, has not yet received optimization and iPad users will have to wait.

Based on user feedback, the new interface is “much better”. In the new interface, a search field has been added to the top panel. The navigation bar has moved and is now located not at the bottom, but on the side. There are icons for quick access to data in the device memory, archive, tools and trash can. There are other changes that make using the service on a tablet more convenient.
