Under the influence of The Crow England, despite travel restrictions, is experiencing a great time for tourism. In fact, if you cannot travel yet, there is always time to think about the next trips. If you think that according to Jessica de Bloom, a fellow at the prestigious Dutch university of Groningen, happiness can be achieved even just by organizing a holiday, then these hotels are the perfect places to dream of staying to feel, at least for one night, like a Queen.

There are few, but much loved, hotels in Britain, some favored by Queen Elizabeth II, others by the younger Meghan and Kate. We pass by the impressive and historical ones like the The Goring e Cliveden House a boutique hotel come Soho Farmhouse, loved by the Duchess of Sussex up to a real luxury home in Cornwall.

Hotel Claridge’s: As well as being a popular afteroon tea destination, Claridge’s has a legendary past. Its Royal Blue and Gold Suite was inspired by the Queen’s coronation and features damask silk upholstery and hand-painted wallpaper with “Buckingham Blue” accents. The hotel has hosted Her Majesty on several occasions and is one of the best destinations for spotting royalty from all over the world.

Cliveden, Berkshire: The former country residence of the Astor family is a place where nearly every British monarch has stayed since George I, not to mention Meghan Markle who spent the night before her wedding here. With historical luxury you can spend the day relaxing in one of the two swimming pools, admire the golden clock tower and enjoy a dream vacation.

Coworth Park, Ascot: The night before marrying Meghan Markle, Prince Harry and his brother William gathered here in the tranquility of 240 acres of parkland. It is the only hotel in the UK to have its own polo fields, which are managed by Guards Polo Club, which offers a full program of tournaments. The hotel also offers an exceptional equestrian center; the current structures in fact include a stable for 30 horses.

The Goring, Londra: Known as the “Buckingham Palace Annex”, the Goring Hotel is a real national treasure with its old bar, secret garden and covered winter terrace. The Royal Suite, where the Duchess of Cambridge stayed before her wedding, extends the length of the building.

The Granary, Caithness: Prince Charles spent most of his childhood in the Queen Mother’s Castle of Mey. He therefore wanted to open this B&B which was created in a renovated 17th century barn, with ten elegant bedrooms and living room with sea view. In the dining room there is a collection of antique pendulum clocks. Not to be missed is the nearby castle with a special menu such as lobster cocktail and Wellington beef.

The Lygon Arms, Cotswolds: a magnificent 14th century inn in the Cotswold. King Charles I stayed here during the English Civil War, while King Edward VII drove to the hotel in 1905 and in 1913 his nephew, the prince and future King Edward VIII. Prince Philip also honored his visitors’ book.

The Connaught, Londra: Connaught is named after Queen Victoria’s seventh son, Arthur, Duke of Connaught and Strathearn. With its wood-paneled rooms, fine silk drapes in its suites and the Prince’s Lodge, it remains a favorite of royalty, from the Queen Mother who opened the hotel’s new kitchen alongside The Connaught Grill restaurant, a place loved by the Princess Diana, who regularly dined there.

Plas Dinas, Wales: this former country residence of the Armstrong-Jones family offers fairytale romance. Here Lord Snowdon regularly spent weekends with Princess Margaret. Inside there are still family portraits, various curiosities and antiques, not to mention the suite of Princess Margaret.

Soho Farmhouse: Soho Farmhouse is the Oxfordshire bucolic outpost of London’s private club Soho House. Meghan Markle is such a fan that she organized her bachelorette party right here in 2018.

Penolva: Penolva is a small hotel with magnificent sea views in Cornwall. The Queen Mother loved this special place, built by her close friend Dick Wilkins in the 1960s. The Queen and Princess Margaret also enjoyed quiet holidays here and Diana used to come with her children.

The Lanesborough: is one of the masterpiece properties of the Oetker Collection in one of the most enviable addresses in London. Overlooking Hyde Park Corner and adjacent to the Buckingham Palace grounds, it is one of the most iconic hotels in the city. The hotel’s most luxurious accommodation is the seven-bedroom royal suite at a price of 28,000 euros per night
